With Daniele Ciminieri, Alessandro Sarcina and Marco Seguri for the Intel Edison Hackatlon we have designed and developed Trashly a prototype for automatic trash recognition. Our sistem used a webcam and an online automatic image tagging service, to recognize the tipology of trash through a picture. With these data we can select and open the right garbage handmade garbage collector. We won the hackatlon and proposed the prototype to interested company to develope a real system based on our prototype.
